Badger Badger Badger... Who would have thought...?

I have known about the Badger Badger Badger website for quite some time now. We have even shown it to Evan on occasion and were amazed to see him "brainwashed" by the repetitive movement and sound, particularly at such a young age. What we didn't know is that it would be the saving grace after a long evening of fussing and crying.

The cause? We believe Evan was teething in earnest. We tried putting him in the crib to see if he'd quiet down. We tried holding him. We tried feeding him. We tried giving him a refrigerated teething ring. Wet washcloth? Been there, done that. I had noticed a bit earlier that when Mel held Evan while playing on the laptop, Evan quieted down for a while. On a whim, while he was having a fit, I opened up the laptop and navigated to Badger Badger Badger. Instantly Evan was quiet and staring at the screen. For some reason the movement and sound was enough to get his mind off of his teeth, his tiredness or whatever else was bothering him. I ended up laying Evan down but where he could still see the laptop. In just a few minutes he was tired enough to close his eyes.

I think we were lucky. The real test will be to see how long he stays down, and whether he'll quickly go back to sleep after his next feeding. If not, guess what will be one of the first things we try... :)

Update (Tuesday morning)
Evan quickly went back to sleep after his feedings last night. This morning he was a very cheery baby boy, so it looks like he was just overly tired.

  1. Hylands Homepathic teething tablets
(found at superwalmart/ walgreens)work wonders immediately on cranky teething babies if it is teething pain- trust me I know :)

also may want to check ears when they go to lay down at night that is when they feel the pressure and start fussing to what we think is teething pain and believe it or not that fluid even though "clear" causes hearing damage and loss of hearing thats why the put tubes in the ears to get rid of the fluid both our kids have had it done now. Audrey was walking more & Talking more right after surgery because she could hear better & had better balance.
