Evan started daycare at the beginning of April. I dropped him off the first day because it was also Melinda's first day back to work and she needed to arrive early to get settled back in. Leaving Evan wasn't as hard as I feared, but it wasn't easy either. No I didn't shed a tear but I sure thought about him a lot while at work. I called the daycare once in the middle of the day for a check up; they assured he was doing well. When I picked him up after work I couldn't have been happier to see him. [The consensus from the day care staff is that he is adorable. Maybe that is because he's the youngest or maybe it is because he is just that cute.]
The next morning Melinda came in with me to see "the routine". She has picked him up from day care a few times since. Melinda and I feel that daycare will be a good experience for Evan. Yes, staying at home at such a young age would be just as beneficial, if not more so but since we are unable to swing it then this is the next best thing. Actually it is the next-next best thing because he gets to stay with Grandma (and Grandpa and Uncle Dan at times) on Fridays.
Hi David and Melinda,
ReplyDeleteLove the 3 months photos of Evan! What cutie. One of the blanket shots cracked me up. Thanks for the day-care and middle of the night "laughing" log.
I bet you're making this into Evan's baby book, huh? Wouldn't Great-Great Grandma Alfreda be totally amazed at all the changes. I remember when the set back manual timer to have your coffee pot (electricity) go on was too complicated for her and she said to me, "Dear, I think I'd rather plug the pot in when I get up than try to use that." : )
This week I had a good catch up visit with Evan's "Grandma" Dorena. Yours, Jennifer
